This made me cringe

This is embarassing and reminded me of the time Rocky and I went to the worst Mass we've ever seen before or since. It's true that Our Lord was born in a stable and was around animals all His earthly life. It is also true that when Our Lord went to His Fathers's house and found men selling animals and changing money on holy ground He made a whip and drove them out. Where is the bishop? Our Lord is disrespected in His own house and people think it's cute. St. John Vianney, pray for us.

Yes, but the dog's vestments look better than the priest's. At least he has taste.

Yeah, I heard about this already. It's all well and good now, but when the first stray cat comes into the sanctuary, it will be all over!

Joe, maybe this is a retro liturgy!

@ Steve - we actually rescued a stray cat who made his way into the sanctuary during Mass once.

Fr. Gerry wasn't sure what to do. Everyone was kinda giggling that this stray cat waltzed into the Church and made himself at home in front of everyone. My mom, who was a EM at the time, scooped him up and handed him to my older sister (who was lectoring that day). She handed him off to my brother who was the sacristan and Ray (my brother) held him until the end of Mass.

Later that day, when we were voting on what to name him, we threw suggestions into the hat. As a joke, my brother wrote in "Pope" because of where we found him.

That was the name my mom pulled from the hat, and that's how Pope got his name. LoL.

Ah, thanks for the memory. That really made me smile.

If ever there was a Priest who had a loyal dog it was Fr. John Bosco. There is no record of him having Grigio assist at mass.

There is a service poople helping a priest in Montgomery.
But that Father is Anglican.
Often those wonderful service animals disappear into the background when they work.

BTW I've often wanted to get a dog and name him Bosco.
