Fr. Cutie

Fr. Cutie "married" his girlfriend this week. The celebrant was a judge.

Clever. Wickedly clever.

The fact that it was a judge officiating and that no attempt to pretend that the marriage is sacramental will come in handy later if he changes his mind. As I said before, I wouldn't want to be in Mrs. Cutie's shoes.

No marriage occurred. That's the good thing about it.

I'm not in any way excusing Fr. Cutié, but the woman concerned can hardly have been unaware that he was a priest...

Men and women, sadly, have affairs all the time. The correct course of action is to repent, go to Confession and resolve not to do it again. This applies as much to priests as it does to married people.

Getting "married" is no cure for infidelity.
