Life in the Dark Ages

I was working while to this homily on what Catholics need to do to survive living in a depraved culture. The priest speaks about the so-called Benedict Option.  I don't put too much stock in the Benedict option partially because the idea comes from an author I'm highly skeptical of and partially because I'm not sure it would work.

Dympha, I do not know why you feel "highly skeptical" about this "author" ... I know him well (although you do not know me) and can relate that this teaching is from a very faithful traditional priest .. one who has placed his priestly life on the line in a number of encounters with unfaithful bishops and fellow priests. His current Bishop has not only extended faculties but sanctioned the founding of a new, traditional, order and consecrated a new, traditional, parish in his diocese ... probably only a short drive from your home in Va. This holy priest (and his brother-priest-in-the-faith) is not shy about teaching the solid faithful catechism .... I recommend this homily to help your discernment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1G2fF_9nt4

No, no, not the dear priest. I am skeptical about the author of the Benedict Option book, Rod Dreher.
