Bishop Balla, rest in peace...

Western bishops, particularly American ones have a lot of time on their hands. While they are meddling in politics, indulging sinners with abnormal sexual penchants, pursuing dubious theories about the weather and scuffing around for refugee resettlement money, Catholics in places like Cameroon really have more pressing concerns.

Bishop Jean Marie Balla of the Biafa diocese was kidnapped, tortured and murdered. His body was thrown in the Sanaga river. Priests and nuns have been attacked before in Cameroon and the bishop reportedly had reason to believe that at least one of those murders might have been at the hands of government assassins.

Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
