The Life of Christ Exhibt at the Chrysler Museum

Rocky and I took a quick trip to Norfolk to see the James Tissot, Life of Christ paintings exhibit. It's incredible and if you're lucky enough to be in the Hampton Roads area before it ends in June, you've got to go.

This must be the artist who travelled to the Middle East to research authentic dress and modeled the faces on real people. I think he painted the finding of the boy Jesus in the Temple.

Yes, Tissot went to the Middle East in order to make his paintings accurate. It tok ten years to do the 350 paintings. it was moving to actually see the exhibit.

Thanks for the heads up about this exhibit, Dymphna. We'll be in Hampton Roads in May for the State Square Dance Convention and will definitely put this on our list of things to do while we're there.
