Mass of the Ages

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. When Rocky told me I thought he was on a joke website but no..... this farce is not worthy of comment so instead I'll concentrate on the beautiful and the true....

See more at this lovely site.

Well, Dymphna, I am 5 blocks away from Our Lady of Lourdes, so we are going there for Mass at 8 Sunday. If you go there, I will be wearing pants and a green and tan baseball cap, because Arlington Cemetery is our next stop.

We had a choice between the Monastery and the JPII CC after the Shrine, so we chose the JPII. My friend loves him and she is of Polish descent. It is not my favorite destination, but it is far improved from 2005.

I love DC.

Have fun Patrice. THe JPII center has a lot of artifacts from JPII's life and the chapel is nice. The gift shop is terrible but oh well. Maybe you'll see Raymond Arroyo filming his EWTN show.

Dymphna, the JP2 gift shop IS terrible but the Basilica gift shop makes up for it.

No Raymond Arroyo, but while we were walking down by the DAR, I saw a man in red robes and I was just so taken with his joy and serenity. I had to make myself look away because I didn't want to stare. When we got to the DAR, they said that part of it was closed because they were hosting the Dalai Lama!!! He is, as far as I know, the only person besides the Pope whose title is "His Holiness." The man just shines!
