After 9/11 President Bush said that Islam was a religion of peace. I suspect that he said that because his advisors feared that the average American was going to go ape on the nearest Muslim. That was wrong and an undestimation of the average American but the "religion of peace" thing stuck and irritates like a rash. Tell the marytred Nigerian Catholics blown up in the middle of Midnight Mass or tell the Iraqi Christians that.
Tell us to remember that we are civilized, tell us that we are better than our enemies, tell us to remember the Golden Rule. Remind people that the Muslim family next door is harmless. Say anything you want but I don't want to hear that "religion of peace" stuff anymore.

Dymphna, I basically agree with this post. But how can we be sure "the Muslim family next door is harmless"? We have no way of reading their minds to determine if they are harmless or not. We can only go by what their religion and culture teaches them about us to determine their "harmlessness". And what we know isn't good. Remember, their religion teaches it's perfectly alright to lie to us to advance Islam. So how can we ever trust them?
Religion of Piece...yes, purposely misspelled. :)...I'm sick of it...either terrorism is an orthodox/orthopraxis of Islam or it's is not. If it is, then at least be honest, if it isn't. Those that practice terrorism must be excommunicated from Islam, perod. no more "religion of peace" or "Moderate Islam" Either it is or it isn't.
Truthfully Steve, I don't really think the Muslim family next door is completely harmless but I could stomach hearing that line parroted betther than the ROP thing.
In re the Muslim family next door: the Santa suit murders on Christmas day turn out to be Muslim "honor killings" perpetrated by a father who did not want his daughter to date non-Muslim boys.
