Once again I ask, "Where are the American Catholics on this?"

We don't expect much from the bishops in France but this sympathetic gesture is more than what I've seen from American dioceses.

"Launched by Archbishop Dominique Rey of Fréjus-Toulon, the initiative calls on parishes to gather at noon to show their support for persecuted Christians in the Middle East."

Dominique Rey is a good man.

He may be a schismatic and heretic technically, for adhering to "Pope Francis", and for not adhering to Pope Michael, but he's a good guy.

"Archbishop Jean-Pierre Cattenoz, archbishop of Avignon said the Feast Day of the Assumption was chosen as the Christians in the Middle East have a special devotion to the Virgin."

Not a totally bad guy either.

Though in a certain affair, he may have protected me more than I wanted or needed.

The monastery of Le Barroux is I think now under him, since Carpentras shares bishop with Avignon. Unless I misrecall.

These men are camparable to Burke and Sarah.
