The Child Jesus, Savior of the World



I didn't care for this painting at first and then I remembered that I've seen little Orthodox boys in New York and in Pennsylvania with curls just like this.

They are called payot and are worn due to the Orthodox interpretation of Leviticus 19:27. The older men tend to tuck them behind their ears, hence why you may only notice them on little boys who run and play, so payot and hair get mussed.
