a beautiful memory

When I was seven or eight I stood in my church, St. Augustine, leaned against a pillar and looked up in awe at the light dancing from the stained glass portraits of Saints Paul and Augustine. They almost seemed to breathe and look down benignly on me. This painting brought that beautiful memory back to me.

Thanks for the painting and the memory, Dymphna! Did you notice the little girl is likely a Hollander?
Very best to you and Rocky.

So sweet. And what a blessing when a memory comes back to cheer our hearts.

That is a precious face filled with delight! Thank you for sharing.

I can't help but wonder why beautiful stained glass is not being included in most new construction in my area. Oh, they might have awful 'abstract' color block windows, but it isn't the same.

One of my favorite memories of my children is when they discovered sunbeams, just like Trixie in Hi and Lois.
