Aggressive driving while Catholic

I was going to work last week and a woman in a car almost hit me. She came so close the wheels were probably inches from my feet and I actually  felt it go by. She had a big 40 Days for Life car magnet on her door  and a bumper sticker with the name of her parish church. I was on the sidewalk and I don't think the lady even looked back as she turned to get into the public garage. If she had hit me I'd have been badly hurt and in the hospital tonight. I wanted to yell at her but I was so stunned I just stood still. A priest can be an angelic pastor, the  pope can be noble hearted and have the preaching tongue of St. Anthony  but for the most part, people make up their mind about the Faith by their interactions with ordinary Catholic lay people and the lady with the  parish and 40 Days for Life ads on her car didn't look to good to any of the witnesses on the sidewalk that day. If you're going to be a jerk or a menace at least put the rosary in the glove compartment and peel off the stickers.

Thanks be to God that the car and my flesh and bones didn't actually meet!

She might have been borrowing the car.

Let's hope, Janet. Or maybe it was the teenage driver of the family. But anyway, glad your safe Dymphna. A big thank you to your guardian angel!

Janet, you could be right. I hope so.

In charity, maybe the lady was in a hurry and just careless this day?

It's better to just assume carelessness rather than malice.

Believe me I get it. I run in the mornings and drivers are distracted and in a hurry. It's up to me to keep myself safe. If I got po'd at every distracted driver, I'd go nuts.

Thank God you're okay :)...As one who has been hit by a car...not fun by any means.

Careless driving by folks is a big peeve for me, especially in bad weather. I don't understand why people are so eager to get somewhere by driving too fast, especially in bad weather!

I am so happy that you were not hit! That woman needs an adjustment in her driving attitude.

I once worked for a Protestant publishing house. For the most part everyone who worked there was just wonderful and patient with my youthfulness. Except for one lady who would make comments about how little I knew about salvation, Jesus, the Bible, etc. I could see the pain on her coworkers faces. They were probably thinking the same thing you were about the Team. My soul wasn't injured in the different interactions with her though!
