Bishop Finn

Oh man, this is just so sad. Bishop Finn is in a lot of trouble.  I don't know if he is being unfairly treated or not but there is a lesson here for all superiors. When in doubt, let the cops sort it out, even if the abuse accusation seems ridiculous. Anything else just  attracts the wolves and plays right into the hands of the Enemy.

I don't think Bishop Finn is being treated fairly. This man is not an aider or abettor of abusers. I think his real crime is being faithful and orthodox, welcoming of the traditional liturgy, and especially clearing the liberals' sacred cows out of his diocese. We need to pray for him, and especially that God will defend him against his many enemies.

Read multiple sources. Bishop Finn promised in a court settlement of three years previous to report such matters immediately. He did not do so in December of 2010. He will argue in court that he was not sure there was anything wrong with Ratigan as to the photos found on the computer. So he did not report anything to the police til May.
The prosecution will point to Finn's own behaviour to show that he did know there was a problem because Finn before May ordered Ratigan to a convent and to stay away from children. He did not even check as to whether Ratigan was obeying him because Ratigan continued to go near children and took another photo.
Finn will lose the case based on his own ordering of Ratigan to a convent while not telling police prior to May.
