100 years-- a thought for election day

Imagine if Cardinal Dolan had stood up at the Al Smith dinner and asked for one moment of silence for each child aborted since 1973, and then imagine the looks on everyone's faces if he'd informed his guests that it would take about 100 years to do so. Do you think that would've gotten a good laugh?

No, he wouldn't have gotten any laughs. And he would never be invited to any dinner after that!

But isn't that what it is all about: happy happy joy joy? We will just laugh our way right into Hell.
Shame on cardinal dolan. (and the lower case c was done on purpose)

Well, this should be an interesting 4 years...

I don't think "interesting" is the word I would use, Lynne, except, I suppose, in the context of the old Chinese curse:

"May you live in interesting times."

It does feel like a curse.

God have mercy on us all indeed.

In my opinion, it's a chastisement. It's been a chastisement, it's just going to last 8 years instead of 4. God's going to make sure that we all get on our knees, one way or another. And I for one, will remind friends and relatives what the consequences of our actions have been.
