Our Lord was not a girlie man or a hippie

The King of Kings
It can't be said often enough, especially if you grew up in the 70s or 80s and those two particularly repulsive images were all you were exposed to.

A girlie man or a hippie would not have been able to go through what Our Lord did during His Passion and still manage to carry the cross and live for three hours. More of an Arnold Schwartzenagger I would say.

No wonder so many priests ordained at the height of these pictures' fashionability turned out to be girlie men themselves, not to mention in many cases active perverts.

Your picture of Christ the King is wonderful! If you look at the living face of Jesus based ont he shroud of Turin, you can see the resemblance. The best images and the icons clearly carry the shroud image. I'm not sure what the other pictures are that you mean, but I've certainly seen holy card pictures that are awful.

Speaking of Arnold, up to 30 He was working as a carpenter.

That did probably involve carrying a lot of beams.

That would be my question to why He was not incarnate in a baker's or a brewer's family. Though these are honest works too.
