Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the
wickedness and the snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray
and do thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl throughout the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

None of us knows the day or hour when our earthly life will be interrupted and we will be called before God to give an account for oursleves. Pray, go to regular confession and trust God.

Thanks for the prayer and the window, Dymphna! I was taught the prayer maybe 60 years ago when I was a kid, and though I forgot it for a time, it's now part of my regular night prayers.
We need all the protection we can get.

Also, over the years I heard some more lines for the kids' prayer:
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and John,
Guard the bed that I lie on.
Angels four around my bed,
Two at the foot and two at the head.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

What a gorgeous window! One from your parish?

No, I wish it was. I think it's in France.
